No. Page, selection, and input translation work without an account using Google + Bing. An account adds AI-quality translation (100K tokens/month free) and TTS voices.
A token is roughly 4 English characters or 1–2 CJK characters. Your current usage shows in the toolbar popup with a progress bar.
SwiftIn falls back to Google + Bing automatically. You're never blocked from translating — just from using AI for it until next month's reset.
Almost. You can exclude any site per-feature in settings, and sensitive hosts (banking, password managers) skip input translation by default.
Bilingual shows original and translation side by side. Translation-only replaces the original. Switch in the popup's Translate card.
Only if you opt in. Free users cannot enable history. Pro/Team must turn it on per-source (input, selection). Cloud sync is a separate opt-in.
Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite (default), DeepSeek v4 Flash, and Grok 4.1 Fast. Switch in settings.
Chat translation requires Pro or Team. Free users can still use page, selection, and input translation.
